Chicago Booth Finance Roundtable: Accounting for Entrepreneurs: from Start-Up to IPO

December 19, 2019 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm CST

The number of public companies in the U.S. has fallen from 8,000 (in 1996) to less than 4000.  Chicago Booth has a lot more students going off to work at smaller, growth stage companies.  Speaker, Professor Ira Weiss plans to discuss this public vs private dynamic, as well as assess today’s private fundraising markets.  Professor Weiss is a Clinical professor at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. He also invests in start-ups via the Chicago-based VC firm called Hyde Park Venture Partners.
