SEC ESG Disclosures – Keeping Pace with Developments Affecting Investors, Public Companies and the Capital Markets
John Coates, Acting Director, Division of Corporation Finance
March 11, 2021

Not long ago, the title of this statement would have needed to unpack “ESG” into Environmental, Social and Governance. That ESG no longer needs to be explained illustrates how important these issues have become to today’s investors, public companies and capital markets. It also illustrates the pace of ESG developments. There remains substantial debate over the precise contents and details of what ESG disclosures might or should encompass. Part of the difficulty is in the fact that ESG is at the same time very broad, touching every company in some manner, but also quite specific in that the ESG issues companies face can vary significantly based on their industry, geographic location and other factors. As such, there is no one set of metrics that properly covers all ESG issues for all companies. Moreover, the landscape is changing rapidly so issues that yesterday were only peripheral today are taking on greater importance.

Agecroft Partners and HFA: Gaining the Edge | Global Virtual Cap Intro 2021
April 26, 2021 – May 7, 2021

The Hedge Fund Association is a proud supporter of Gaining the Edge – Global Virtual Cap Intro 2021 to benefit at-risk youth which seeks to be the largest and highest quality virtual capital introduction event in the alternative investment industry.

The first GTE Virtual Cap Intro event this past October had approximately 1,000 people participate, and its spring 2021 event is expected to be even larger.

Gaining the Edge is viewed by most participants as complementary to other private virtual cap intro events such as Context Summits or iConnections, due to the small overlap of participating managers and investors. Scroll down to see a partial list of registrants (managers & investors) from the October 2020 event.

Similar to the 2020 event, this event will donate a large portion of its profits to select charities that benefit at-risk youth. In addition, our Spring 2021 event will promote diversity in the industry by offering discounts to diverse/women owned firms, or firms with a majority of senior employees diverse/women. To date, Gaining the Edge LLC and Agecroft Partners have donated over $2.5 million to these organizations.
