Perspectives: Where Do We Go From Here? Weighing the Impact of Covid on Consumer Investing
Thursday, July 30, 2020, 12:00-1:00 P.M. CDT

Consumer buying habits changed dramatically, and seemingly overnight, with the advent of Covid-19. Meeting friends at the gym or the bar became cocktail hour Zoom calls. Roaming the supermarket aisles was out; grocery delivery was in. And brick-and-mortar retail therapy continued to lose out to online shopping. Even as restrictions loosen we wonder if a “new normal” is settling in. A s the pandemic upends all of our lives, private equity and VC investors are focused on keeping existing portfolio companies alive while finding new ones that can benefit from this profound shift.

In this special webinar, you’ll hear from a group of established consumer investors as they discuss the steps they’ve taken or are taking with their portfolio companies, the types of investments that make sense in this environment, and what impact the pandemic will have on the retail/consumer sector going forward.

The speakers will be Jesse Draper of Halogen Ventures, Farah Khan of L Catterton, Vanessa Larco of New Enterprise Associates, Alison Minter of North Castle Partners and Laura Thompson (moderator) of Sapphire Ventures.

FREE: Chicago Financial Women: Virtual Self-Care Favorite Things Happy Hour
Thursday, July 30, 2020, 4:30-6:00 P.M. CDT

Join CFW at our second virtual event, where we’ll be sharing our favorite beauty and wellness products, self-care routines, meditation podcasts, etc. We’re all feeling a bit of Zoom fatigue at this point, so we encourage you to follow the lead of our Events Team and get comfy, grab a drink, and meet us on Zoom to share how we are decompressing!

Why should you add self-care to your daily routine? Self-care practices are deliberate behaviors you can perform to enrich your physical and mental well-being. Although it’s a simple concept, it is often overlooked. It is important to implement as it may improve your mood and can reduce anxiety, all while fostering a good relationship with oneself and others. Self-care is about knowing what we need to do in order to take care of ourselves so we can exist in a space where we can give attention and support to our friends and loved ones.

Once you’ve registered, please be on the lookout for an email from CFW (you will receive the email the day before, as well as the day of the event) which will contain the relevant Zoom meeting login information. Please RSVP by July 28th.
