As we look back at the past 10 years of the Coalition and look ahead to the next decade, we are reminded of our core mission: To support and promote women lawyers.

Please save the date to join us at the East Bank Club for dinner and a candid conversation with national leaders about the challenges of promoting diversity in the legal industry and concrete steps for creating real, positive change. Additional details coming soon.

We look forward to having many Managing Partners, General Counsels and our member attorneys – women and men – join us for this important program.

ACG Chicago: Sunset Session Presented by Wipfli: Opportunity Zone Funds – Seizing the Opportunity
Tuesday March 24, 2020, 4:00-6:30 P.M.
Wipfli, 1 N. Wacker Drive, Chicago, IL

With over 50 million people living in economically distressed areas, the purpose of opportunity zones is to connect low-income communities with capital investments to promote economic growth. As an investor, you can take realized capital gains and reinvest them into qualified opportunity funds (“QOFs”) – gaining access to three big benefits:

  • Tax Deferral
  • Step-Up Benefits
  • No Capital Gain Tax on Appreciation

OFs generally can invest in real estate and operating businesses and meet the requirements to qualify for these benefits. Investors just received a lot more clarity and certainty as the U.S. Treasury Department and the IRS finalized the tax regulations in December 2019, making now a great time to start investing.
