Bits N’ Bytes Cybersecurity Fellowship Application for Your Female High School Students
Application Deadline: Thursday, February 28, 2019, 11:59 PM CST
Bits N’Bytes is partnering with Facebook to sponsor a scholarship program for high school girls. The seven national fellows chosen this year will be mentored by a cybersecurity professional over the months of March through May into completing a capstone project answering the question, “How can we work together to mitigate cyber-threats of the future?” The capstone project solution and research can take the form of a community educational outreach initiative, a report from researching into a specific sub-topic (e.g. IoT, cybersecurity policy, data breaches, social media, cyber-warfare, counterterrorism) and preparing a solution statement, an app, a graphic novel, or any other approved creative means. Each of the national fellows will receive $500 stipends for funding their research projects, as well as supporting their post-secondary studies in cybersecurity.
Each fellow will also be eligible for an all-expense paid trip to Chicago, IL on June 15, 2019 to present their solution at the GirlCon Chicago Conference. (www.girlconchicago.com)
