FIA: Crypto: Past. Present. Futures? A Derivatives Case Study
September 11, 2018 3:30-6:00 PM
The Union League Club of Chicago, Crystal Room, 65 W. Jackson Blvd., Chicago, IL
In conjunction with the FIA Market Technology Division Annual Meeting.
Bitcoin futures were launched late in 2017, bringing the world of digital assets to the listed derivatives industry. How does the industry quickly get up to speed on digital assets – how do they work, how do they trade, how do they settle, how are they regulated? These are just a few of the questions that the industry needed to understand – and quickly.
Join the FIA Market Technology Division, on its new date September 11, for a panel discussion on the following topics:
Past: The panel will present basic background on cryptocurrencies and their futures, as well as discussing how the FIA Market Technology division worked with other FIA divisions to discover and share information.
Present: Exchanges will discuss their experiences listing bitcoin futures and share their plans for further product development.
Future: The panel will discuss what may be next for digital assets within the listed derivatives industry, including challenges around physical delivery, and the use of digital assets as collateral
Speakers: Greg Wood, FIA; Kevin Darby, Blue Trading Systems; John Tornatore, Cboe; and Giovanni Vicioso, CME Group.
For questions, please contact Mary Freeman at +1 202.772.3033. Dress for the Union League Club is business casual (no jeans please).
